One way syncing

I have looked everywhere I can think of, and haven’t found the answer I’m looking for, so I hope this isn’t a repeat question.

I am working on an app that produces a lot of data. This data needs to get to the server, but only a small portion of it needs to remain on the device. It seems as though I can use Query-based synchronization, to sync the small portions that need to remain on the device, which is half of the solution. However, I’m not sure if I can use a similar technique to upload the rest of the data, while avoiding downloads from the server. Basically, I want to sync up to the server, then, upon upload completion, remove the local copy, and avoid syncing down.

Hopefully this all makes sense. Thanks for any help, in advance.
